Debbie is a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher in America. One of only nine women on the list. She has been on the Top 100 list since 2017. Golf Digest named Debbie the #5 teacher in New York, voted by her peers, and has been in the top ten since 2015.
She was in the Top 20 under 40 in Golf Digest for four years. Debbie contributes to Golf Magazine, Golf Digest and can be heard on Sirius XMPGATour radio live tournament coverage. There she conducts/conducted live range coverage, post round interviews and analysis. Also for SiriusXM Debbie hosted and joined several Town Halls at The PGA Show. She has appeared on PGATour Live’s live coverage, FOX Sports commentating in the booth and on course and on the range, in its inaugural debut of broadcasting all USGA events, as well as hosted her own two year show on Sirius radio with fellow LPGA player Natalie Gulbis and a four year SiriusXMPGATour show marrying the body and the swing with fitness expert Ben Shear. She also made several appearances on The Golf Channel’s Academy Live as well as Fitness Friday’s.
Debbie grew up in Greenwich, CT with her teacher and main mentor Jim McLean. Jim was Debbie’s teacher from 12 years old onward, and she then worked for Jim as a Lead Master Instructor for over twenty years. She has, within the last ten years, also sought the advice and spent numerous hours with the likes of and examples of instructors such as Mike Adams, Chuck Cook, Randy Smith, Butch Harmon, Bill Harmon, Gary Gilchrist, Mike Bender, Steve Bann, and the late Carl Welty. She credits Dr. Bob Rotella, Iain Highfield, Kevin Kirk, Brett McCabe, Ben Shear as other people within the golf world she uses with her students.
She played college golf at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she was captain and led the team, sophomore through her senior year. A constant top ten team, they won the ACC Championship in her senior year, joined The ACC all conference, while Debbie had claimed the individual title. Debbie is in the ACC Golf Hall of Fame. Competing professionally on the mini tours and The European Tour, for four years after graduating, her amateur career culminated with a quarterfinal finish at The US Women’s Amateur and a bronze medal at The World University Games in Spain.
She is currently the Director of Instruction at GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford, NY where she has been for 21 years.
